I'm actually seriously bothered by the turn of things in the U.S. The past few years, and now Obama. Thing going from bad, to even worse. You need to calm down and come back to reality. Talk about over the top. You need to take your meds. Pot. *Meet Kettle. Kook meet twit. I'm actually concerned about what will happen in 4 years. *"4" being the operative word here. *One needs to look at world history and go back about 70 or so years. *I'm really worried about the likability of our new president - elect. *That being said, he did definitely run the better campaign. *He used all of the "current" technology to its fulest. *It's not surprising that he won. *However, it does make one want to rethink the electoral college and it's original intent. You have to wonder why things turned out like they did. Why the weakest candidate was put up by the republicans and why Obama made it past Hillary? Why didn't McCain pick from among the other republican rivals for a running mate instead of the governor of Alaska? These choices were not the way things would have gone in the past. All the past playbook rules were ignored or changed. We ended up with two terrible choices for president and VP. Over the hill, unreliable, and unelectable on one hand or extreme liberal, no experience on the other. In 4 years what will we have? Will Obama make it through the next 4 years. Will we still have a country resembling what we have today? I don't have an answer for these questions other than our nations institutions are breaking down. People voted for change. All I can say is be careful what you ask for. -- Telamon Ventura, California No, only one terrible choice: McCain, and one GREAT choice, Obama, who is one of the first Democrats since 1964 to get *well* over 50% of the popular vote. Turnouts and lines unseen in recent times. This is not the result of two terrible candidates. It's the result of ONE, and you and I both know it's McCain. |
