Do you think Sony will continue its losing relationship with ibiquity?

Actually, If HD generates ratings and revenues it takes care of
everything else.

So far it's an abysmal ratings & revenue loss..
How long can broadcasters wait. If you haven't noticed, radios
consolidators are acting like sinking ships, throwing over board
anything that might weigh them down. So I guess creative people are
just more dead weight.
Can HD be far behind? Those pesky digital right fees add up quick when
nothing is coming in to pay the bills.

CCK,

"HD" by itself is not going to sell anything.

"Content" {Programming} Sells Radio : FM Radio
Sells Better Than AM/MW Radio.

"HD" allows an additional Audio Stream on FM
HD-Radio; the so-called HD2 Channels.

=IF= an FM HD-Radio Station has an HD2 Channel
with "Content" {Programming} Sells : Then that Radio
Station will have a 2nd Revenue and Income Stream
and 'potentially' a Bigger Local Market Share.

FM HD-Radio allows for More Channels and Greater
Product {Content} Diversity for the Existing Stations
and 'potentially' Increased Revenue and Income at a
Cost much less than building new separate Radio
Stations to accomplish the same amount of growth.

Radio is struggling now with content. Having more channels isn't the
problem it's the lack of content.
Next Tuesday massive layoffs will come, as Crap Channel will layoff
hard working talented people favoring more national programming. I
agree more channels are great, but filling them up seems to be a
problem..
Ratings and revenues will only follow quality programming not found on
Ipod cloned devices..
More jukeboxes won't save or help HD, FM or AM..

Radio's solutions to its problems is in the creative talented people
now being fired.
Those who still love MW dxing, will be disappointed as the hiss
created by HD will kill that thrill, plus
cloned programming will be found on their local repeater station.

"The latest to cut staff: iBiquity"
1/16/09

"The technology developer behind HD Radio has trimmed its payroll in a
move iBiquity says will conserve resources. CEO Bob Struble says
despite the downsizing, the company is continuing its strong forward
movement. It's iBiquity's first layoff since August 2003."

Lay all of the ****ers off, then pull all of the IBOC jammers! BTW -
radio revenues are now down 50%
