Hitler was indeed a fascist. He was no socialist. He hated socialism/communism at it's core, and turned on his alliance with Russia as soon as he had what he wanted out of them. The Russians were going to attack very soon. It pays to get a head start and it's better for morale. The division of Poland was a convenience for both of them. I've recently read the Russians admitted to framing the Nazis for the mass murder of thousands of Polish officers. Note that Germany had war declared on it by the US as soon as it couldn't afford to make the interest payments to the New York bankers. mike |
