Yes, it does. It should make you reassess your assumptions about the
police in Okland. Perhaps the cops have become bigger thugs than
Mixon. If it can happen in Oakland it can happen elsewhere.

I believe this is common to many cities, mine included. I don't really
have a problem with that. Just because you live elsewhere doesn't mean
you have to be a thug with a gun.

Looks like a problem with Oakland. Why don't bureaucrats want to live
there? Why can't Oakland draw from within? My guess is people with a
choice avoid Oakland for good reason. But if Oakland can make
residency a requirement perhaps things will improve. Or, they can't
retain employees.

NO - For the most part Oakland is populated by
plain ordinary people trying to live, work and raise
their families. What Oakland has had is Failed
Leadership in both it's Mayor and City Councel
for almost 30-Years since the 1970s.
