Aside from all that.. last I heard, piracy on the high seas was a crime. I believe maritime law at one point allowed the ship's captain to be judge, jury and, if needed, executioner (since there is no particular government in charge of the high seas, the captain was de-facto government). That the SEALS shot them is not beyond precedence, either, since it is not at all unusual for SWAT teams to shoot perps in domestic hostage situations. |
