Their thinking was that there is no business without a phone, so they deserve a cut. iBiquity is no different. The HD 1 stream is a simulcast of the analog channel, there is no HD audio without iBiquity, so they take a cut of revenues. heat; 10% of the analog power is burned off. The bottom line is that thousands of watts are thrown away as heat, 24/7. Really green, eh? How "green" it is is really a side issue. Not in today's business environment. |
