Default Purchased a new Grundig g5 for $59.99

Just a little while ago I bought a new in the box Grundig g5 for
$59.95; complete with ac adapter, travel pouch, and owner's manual; at
the Radio Shack store in Southside Plaza in Richmond, Va. I believe
this was the last new g5 available at that location. Apparently,
Radio Shack has decided to discontinue the g5, but store managers have
wide discretion over pricing. For example, this afternoon a salesman
at the Chester, Va., location, a few miles away, tried to sell me the
same radio (but a display model with no accessories) for $80 and
change. So it's a good idea to call various RS stores and check g5
pricing and availability

The g5 is a good buy at the original price of $150; for 60 bucks it's
an outright giveaway.

very good price, I paid full price when I got mine. The only thing I
don't like about my G5 is the sound quality, even the G6 and G4 sound
more natural.

I haven't decided if I am going to get the new G3 or Satellit 750

Hi,
Good deal for a Grundig G5. Is the G3 going to go on sale soon?
I don't know much about the Satillite 750.
Best wishes,
Mike

Last time I visited a "Cellphone Shack" they didn't even have an
unpowered speaker (a-la the old Minimus 7 type) that I wanted for my
scanner. They ain't what they used to be.

Change is inevitable, progress is not.
