For some strange reason, I am tempted to say I have never seen anyone
improve on natures/Gods' design with a knife ... I should doubt that there
is a single exception to this ...

Appendectomy
If you don't use that knife, you die.

And a lot of the Biblical constraints do have some basis in better
sanitation and health
Circumcision included.

Yes, but the appendix does have a purpose, surgery is not an
improvement, but in cases of infection, a life saving fix ... but then,
if you had gangrene in your penis, a surgeon might be a very desirable
thing ... one can always hope for positive results from reconstructive
surgery, later ... silly-grin

Yes, that is what predatory economics is, isn't it, "not seeing"
anything which gets in the way of profits ... the many pay the costs of
supporting the "special few."

I see a list of benefits, but so far haven't found a statistical
analysis of them. I have to leave shortly and will follow links when
I get back.

It's not hard to find lists of benefits for almost any medical
procedure. And there are tests being done by physicians that are
statistically more dangerous than the disease they test for. Whether
or not this applies to circumcision should be tested with actual
studies that include the measured dangers & benefits of circumcision.

The important word above is "measured".

Sometimes going after profits can actually hurt profits.

Here's an interesting link (It's Steve Jobs related - but I'd like to
see the book):

No, engineering.
But I forgot the 'irony smiley' (don't know, how that looks like)

..
Another question is, what you do with your kids, since these cannot
defend themselves. Early childhood traumata of any sort are generally
unhealthy.

That is a question that has been asked,
Too bad that there is very little evidence to suppor the notion that it
causes lifelong trauma..

The subject drifts a little too far away from the subject of this
thread. (And somehow it is not my business, just my feeling tells me,
that I wouldn't do that.)
..

The Brits supported the communists and are themself responsible for a
few massacres. But I even think, the Brits supported the Nazis, too.
Hitler could possibly be a kind of 'British spy'. The entire story of
the so called third Reich is more than dubious. Most likely its all
fake and crime. But I cannot tell anything for sure.

I usually follow ideas and inspirations, then research, read, look at
old pictures or films.

Usually I try to find inconsistencies. One of these was a 'storm belt'
over the wrong shoulder - on a person that opens the door of a car for
Hitler. This means, the film is reverted and left and right exchanged.
Possibly to hide the fact, that the car was designed to drive on the
left side.

You are a conspiracy nit

Thats why I write on alt.conspiracy ;-)

I like this thread, because the collection of other boards that
participate is amazing. Usually I wouldn't write about golf, shortwave

LOL!

I like to include conspiracy because everything we humans do is a
conspiracy, and usually we attempt to involve more than just ourselves
in in. Whether we are conspiring to change another point of view, or
conspiring to have others examine our logic and we theirs, etc.

And, this, all, in contrast to the criminal conspiracies of criminal
pubic servants in public servant offices, whose duty is to carry out the
will of the majority while making sure those duties do not injure a
single person, group, or groups -- i.e., a minority. And, fulfill their
duties in their oaths to uphold the Constitution and guarantee the
government of the people, by the people and for the people.

From the time me and the wife get up, until we lay our heads down at
night, we are engaged in an open conspiracy to improve and enrich, not
only our own situation, but our family, friends and communities ... our
only enemies are those working against our endeavors -- unfortunately,
there are many, and their numbers seem to grow these days ...

I think, the Americans were on the better side, most of the time. A lot
of people around the globe lived in conditions, that were/are far worth.
But now something is going wrong in your country, what really worries me.

My 'working hypothesis' is like this:
There are sort of 'bad guys', that cooperate silently around the globe.
Their objective is something like a forth Reich - on global level.

The mayor stumbling block now are actually the Americans, since they
have grown too strong. So the 'bad guys' try to dumb down, rip off (and
so forth) the US citizens.
This is not only bad for the US citizens, but also for the rest of the
world, since than the 'bad guys' would win.

So I think about possible 'cures'.

For example:

think about Halloween next week.
But what do you actually celebrate?

Kids go around and 'demand' sweets. In my opinion, that is almost a
'kids-crime', since it is sort of 'robbery' as childs play. Than all
these masks and reference to witchcraft, voodoo and death, than cannot
possibly be helpful.
(The sweets are bad for the health anyhow, since they consist only of
glucose, citric acid, fat, artificial flavours and colours.)

Other example is education:
I've read comments about how they teach mathematics. That was totally
strange. Teaching is an asymmetric relation: someone has the knowledge
and someone learns. The directions of information goes from teacher to
pupil. So the teacher has to do just that: teach. If the pupil decide,
what they want to learn, they learn nothing.

How about health?
Americans pay a lot, but do not get healthier. Why that?
Maybe its the food (mainly), don't know.

But better health is not only nicer to have, but also saves a lot of money.

Very helpful is cleanness at home and good food. Most fast-food or
convenience-food is very unhealthy (and expensive). So I suggest, that
people learn to cook again, possibly in school, since this would not
only enhance health, but also frees energy (and money), what could be
helpful in times of trouble.

Sometimes going after profits can actually hurt profits.

Which can be seen also in the history of Domino's Pizza and other companies
that cheapen their product in pursuit of profit only to end up losing
significant portions of their customer base due to an inferior product and
thus losing profits in the long run.

At least Dominos has figured that out and changed the substance on their
pizzas. I have tried one and it wasn't bad. I normally go to a small
pizza maker not far away who makes most excellent pizza and, no matter
what other pizzas (chain or single owner) I have tried I always go back
to him.
