Default World Population Reaches 7 Billion Today

And will grow another 2.3 billion by the year 2050 to reach 9.3
billion "miracles". Astonishingly this is cause for celebrations
around the world. Is there no limit to the ignorance of the teeming
masses?

I'll be celebrating by making donations to the Center for Biological
Diversity http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/ and the Population
Connection http://www.populationconnection.org/site/PageServer and
toasting the late great Bill Hicks who accurately opined that humans
are "viruses with shoes".

"Sometime on Monday, Oct. 31, the world's population is projected to
hit 7 billion." http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/449905.../#.Tq80_UIeiDw

Only 2.3 billion in 40 years? It's gone up 4 billion in the LAST 40 years..
I would think that it would grow even faster in the next 40, given the
logarithmic nature of the reproduction curve. It took thousands of years to
make it to the first 3 billion, and only 35 or so to make the next 3
billion...

Interesting point you make. I would like to see the metrics being used
for the projection, perhaps something we don't know about is being
factored in. Conspiracy theorists have at it.

The UK's statistics office recently announced that they'd underestimated
Britain's likely population increase, and that mostly because of
immigration and immigrant breeding, by 2043 the population will be 74
million, more than France and Germany. [2] This is near the top of the
range of the UN's latest estimate.

There's a suggestion from New York's Population Council [3] that
governments ideologically opposed to family planning have caused a
population boom.

My guess FWIW is that Europe (and probably elsewhere) will see a wave of
African immigrants fleeing climate change and the theft of their land by
corrupt governments and international hedge funds.

There is plenty of blame to go around. The Catholic Church and other
religious zealots who oppose birth control, corrupt governments ever
in search of oxen and cannon fodder, corporations lusting after an
endless supply of cheap labor and stupid consumers who are easily
manipulated into buying their never ending supply of junk. The list of
entities who are benefiting from the insanity is long.

As with Europe, North America is experiencing the horrors of
immigration as well. The Mexican invasion of the USA has been ongoing
for 20 years and the utter disaster that has wrought is well
chronicled.

The largest three groups of immigrants allowed into Canada each of
the past 5 years are all brown (China, Pakistan and India) so look for
the demographics of that nation to change drastically as well.
Considering the prolific reproduction rates of those groups it won't
take long for the "Great White North" to turn into the "Not So
Great".

Looks like an unlucky 13 billion would be a more realistic
population projection. Glad I won't be around to see it.

As the world get more and more crowded, we'll start killing each other
more frequently and that will slow the population growth.

They are not making anyone sick. They use 900 MHz spread spectrum and
only transmit when polled. The leakage from your Radar Range is a million
times stronger.

I can't wait for mine; they give you near real time feedback on your
energy use.
