Do you know anything about US Grant beside what's in the k00ksites? In
the 1850s, US Grant was broke and got a slave from his father-in-law.
Grant freed the man, despite the fact that the sale of his slave would
have more than paid off his debts.

Grant also urged his father-in-law to free his slaves so the slave
familes could stay together, rather than being broken up at slave
auctions.

I'll save the label "SOB" for those who would go to WAR to PRESERVE
slavery.

US Grant was no Confederate.
