"Jimmie James" wrote in message ... AGAIN I'm gonna respond to my own post cuz Brenda Ann and Brian D. shouldn't be given the right to vote!!!! These two swallow the lies the media feeds them and can't think for themselves!!!!!!!!!!!! My, what a rude little cretin you are. For starters, I do not buy into everything the media says, in fact, I tend not to buy much of it at all, this stemming from the experience of the Reagan shooting, where our press (predominantly ABC) had him everything from uninjured to dead.. so much for accuracy of the press. Next, though it's true I do not like Bush, for many reasons, I do not blame the economy on him. I mean, get real, the president really doesn't have squat to do with the economy. He does not set stock prices, he does not set profit levels or influence consumer spending. The economy is out of his control (this goes for both Republican AND Democratic presidents). A goodly number of people can't pass the postal exam??? First of all, I don't believe it because I know a young woman at our post office who passed it at 95% and she didn't even know Hawaii is our 50th state!!!! (Remember those wonderful state stamps that were recently marketed by the USPS?? She told us that she couldn't understand why Hawaii was included in those stamps!!!!) Now is that my problem or George W.'s problem that some schmuck is too moronic to pass the HIGHLY simple postal civil service exam???? NO!!!! If anybody could pass a Civil Service exam, then they most likely would not have them. And with our education system in the condition it's in, there are a LOT of folks who can't read the exam questions, let alone answer them. I'm afraid the problems with the education system can be blamed upon two generations of politicians (mostly Democrats, but enough Republicans to let it all slide) who let social workers and pshrinks tell us how to raise our kids. I know it's not politically correct, but dammit, when we could still spank our kids, they didn't take guns to school to blow away their classmates, or knife someone to take their sneakers. If you want a good job, get an education!! Times have changed. In case you haven't noticed, we've become a high-tech society. To work high-tech and get the high-tech, high wages, you need high-er EDUCATION!! My teenager is going high tech: engineering. He works at a "burger joint" where he USED TO work minimum wage, but since he's proven to be a well rounded, dependable and hard working indiividual....he's now making almost TWICE the minimum wage. This has allowed him to pay for his college education!!! Payed for college on $12 an hour?? Who was he living with? Who was paying his bills? Our household pulls in $70,000 net per year, and, although some things are much more expensive here (electricity alone runs upwards of $700 a month during the summer), most is comparable to stateside costs, and we do buy a lot of toys, and help people out as much as we can, but we don't get to save a lot. Certainly could not afford college, even a community college is out of our budget. And are you aware that over 20% (I don't recall the exact figure) of working people in the US are trying to live off of less than $25,000 a year? Perhaps in some economically depressed states like Mississippi or Arkansas or Oklahoma, where rents are much lower, but in most cities rent alone would eat up about half (or more) of that.. Yes...I've been unemployed before, SEVERAL times. And actually HOMELESS, living out of my car!!! (That was right after the GLORY Jimmy Carter years....a D E M O C R A T !!) You pull yourself up by your bootstraps and move on! You don't sit at home and whine, cry and bitch and blame your President when it's something YOU can take care of YOURSELF!! NOBODY is suppose to find a job FOR YOU!! I live in a state that is SUPPOSE to have one of these so-called high unemployment rates. But again, I see HELP WANTED signs from the USPS (LOCAL job postings!!!) to factories to McDonalds! Again, anyone blaming any president, or even CONgress, for that matter, for the state of the economy, is out of line, no matter the party. There are just too many market forces applied for such a small group of people, and certainly any one person, to make much of a dent. The biggest dynamic involves US and BUSINESS. I would have to guess that if any entity or group of entities has more overall influence upon the economy, it would be the trade unions. It is largely the trade unions that have caused the outsourcing of jobs in the US, and the pricing out of the market of US goods due to the artificially high wages of many jobs (I can't believe that someone gets paid $35 an hour to put windshield wipers on on an assembly line). But I suppose some of you are too good and want to start right at the top as CEO's LOLOLOLOL!!!! Brenda Ann, CEO. Brian Denley, CEO. Has a funny ring to it, doesn't it. LOLOLOLOL!!! FYI, I wouldn't WANT to be a CEO.. I wouldn't want to have a reputation of being a crook, as is the case of so many such, at least in the public's perception lately.... I would rather keep my reputation for being an honest person who still cares about the customer.. |
