It's just a wire antenna with a matching transformer or 'un-un'. You could certainly roll your own for less $. In looking at it, to me it seems to be a rather short antenna. That it is. The ad also says that it uses the coax braid as a counterpoise.
That would defeat the shielding and allow the introduction of local noise.
