(in message cHhmb.4807$d87.2704@okepread05): I got my Satellit 800 back from R.L. Drake today with a brand new encoder. But now, for some reason, I can't get the damn thing to run off the batteries. They are in there correctly (I know I killed a lot of brain cells in college, but still...) I had no problems with the batteries before I sent it off. Could Drake have screwed up something related to the battery power supply while fixing the encoder? Also, the "." key is sticking a little bit too, which I also don't remember happening before I sent it off. Does replacement of the encoder require some work with the keypad? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Is it the same unit you sent in? They aren't always (generally, I have no idea about "Drake"). Gray |
