I got my Satellit 800 back from R.L. Drake today with a brand new encoder. But now, for some reason, I can't get the damn thing to run off the batteries. They are in there correctly (I know I killed a lot of brain cells in college, but still...) I had no problems with the batteries before I sent it off. Could Drake have screwed up something related to the battery power supply while fixing the encoder? Also, the "." key is sticking a little bit too, which I also don't remember happening before I sent it off. Does replacement of the encoder require some work with the keypad? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. To work on the radio the repair person had to remove the rear cover and disconnect the battery power connector (plug) for the wires that go from the battery compartment to the main PC board. They may have forgot to plug it back in to the PCB before the rear cover was put on. You'll have to remove the cover to check this out. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
