JIAW/Anon,
Remove the back of the GS800M. Check the two wires from the batteries to the main circuit board. IIRC: There is a mechanical interupt/disconnect switch built into the External 9VDC Jack on the back of the GS800M; for the ACDC Power Adapter. There could be a problem with this built-in-switch. mttidnk ~ RHF .. .. = = = "Jenni_is_a_Whore" = = = wrote in message news:cHhmb.4807$d87.2704@okepread05... I got my Satellit 800 back from R.L. Drake today with a brand new encoder. But now, for some reason, I can't get the damn thing to run off the batteries. They are in there correctly (I know I killed a lot of brain cells in college, but still...) I had no problems with the batteries before I sent it off. Could Drake have screwed up something related to the battery power supply while fixing the encoder? Also, the "." key is sticking a little bit too, which I also don't remember happening before I sent it off. Does replacement of the encoder require some work with the keypad? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |
