I have one myself that is about 10 to 12 years old, and use it often.
I haven't used it much in the last 7-8 years but do keep batteries in it in case of power outages but I bought a 2001 (not the D) used about 15 years ago and it's still going strong, looks used (actually it looked used when I bought it) but it's still doing it's thing. Rob Mills ~ Tulsa |

Hi,
The 2001 is also a very good little radio. For portability, it is a preferred set. It is unfortunate that Sony no longer manufactures these types of radios. I am not to impressed with their newer models compared to these series of sets. The same is for the Panasonic as well. Naturally the ultimate type of receiver, is to get an Icom, Drake, or something along that line. But, it is also a lot more dollars. -- Greetings, Jerry Greenberg GLG Technologies GLG ========================================= WebPage http://www.zoom-one.com Electronics http://www.zoom-one.com/electron.htm ========================================= "Rob Mills" wrote in message news:K2SCb.789$PK3.722@okepread01...
