I am in Montreal Canada. We hit about -52 F the other night. I had

the
heat at maximum, and I was only able to heat part of my house to

about 52 F.
We are back up to about -26 now, and I am able to get the heat to

near
normal. The garage, even with the heat going full blast was about

25 F.
The water on the cement floor was frozen solid. I am sitting in the

living
room with the computer, and I can feel the coldness radiating from

the outer
walls.

News about the cold in the Canadian Atlantic provinces is ending (I

will
believe this when I see it)

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...258003121_84//

On the local news they reported that some people were found frozen

to death!
There are warnings on the radio and TV to try to find ways to

conserve
power. There are cars all over the streets that just will not start.

The
auto mechanics are overloaded with work. It is hard to find someone

that can
take in an auto repair without waiting a few days.

The weather man on TV has a good sense of humour with all of this.

He was
saying that we are going to have a heat wave next week. The

temperature are
supposed to warm up to about -10 F. Yea... I was laughing all

right...

If Hell can find a place to freeze over, let it come here! I think

it will
come to a full stop!

Wow, that is cold! I bet you have to use special engine oil in
your car. I'll never complain about the Scottish weather here again.
It is unusual for us to go much lower than 20F in winter, and
certainly unusual for the daytime max. to be below freezing. Snow is
even fairly rare here, despite our massive annual precipitation.
Our summers are rather cool by your standards too (60 - 75F). We
complain a lot about the rain, wind and cloudy days. But really, we're
not hard done by, especially compared to you guys!
