Except on really outstanding days, those antennas are totally inadequate.
Heck! Even inside the square metal tube I live in I can get much stuff day and night, using just the telescoping antennas on all my radios, from the DX-392 down. And I live near Galveston Bay in SE Texas. I was beginning to wonder if you lived in one of those magnetic anomolies where signals don't go in or out. Those exist all over the US. Bill, K5BY |

What kind of metal tube? The kind with wheels? I also live in a Farady

I have 2 Shortwave radios, I scan the bands alot, and yet never get
anything! I wanna get rtty, cw and SSTV and WEFAX. HELP! What do I look for? Do I need a book? Looks like they're all going to try an tell you that you have no chance in hearing what you want...lol....keep trying. *READ A LOT* Pressi, you can't read enough in this hobby and then take action and get out there and do you up a good antenna for what you're trying to hear. Take your time and have fun, more importantly.:-) |
