When I turn on and tune the CC Antenna, I'll get a reasonably strong station "most of the time" (subjective). 2. The antenna works. I'm in a horrible location over the river and under the hill and with only a sealed-window facing South for an indoor antenna. How directional is it?

There must be some good discounts out there somewhere on the DX models if that is the case. Speaking of Radio Shack, I was real disappointed in their sales people a couple of weeks ago when I purchased their SW antenna kit. I'm an electronics dummy so I asked them some very basic questions about hooking the antenna up to my Sony 7600GR....like hooking up the lead in wire to a plug (which I bought from them) that has a hot pin and a ground sleeve. They had no clue. First they said hook it up to the ground, then the hot, and finally both! This happened at two stores. I remember not too long ago when their commercials bragged how their salespeople were electronics experts....well, now they don't even know the basics of the stuff they sell. They're only minimum wage droids who barely have enough knowledge to flip hamburgers (their last job). I went to a RS for something and the store was empty so I got to talking with the salesgirl clerk. She said that she makes $7 an hour, took the job because there was nothing else available and she didn't have a college degree (this was a few months after the terrorist attacks), and is trained to sell cellphones. She said that people ask her questions about "that stuff back there" (the parts section) but she doesn't know what it is, much less what it's meant for. She said I knew more about it than she did. |

Some of their stuff is "made to their specifications" however you want to interpret that, but I don't think they have their own manufacturing facility for anything, and don't know if they ever did. Hi, Gray!
Yeah, the folks left at C.Crane renamed the Chris Justice Antenna (now that he's no longer with them -- he's at RadioLabs). I agree with everything you wrote about it. If you live in an accidental "Faraday cage" because of metal studs or siding, it's a great way to bring in strong AM signals. Also, to answer another post, yes -- it is directional, but I don't find it as quite as directional as a CCRadio+, even though it has two of the same 8-inch ferrite coils in it that the CCRadio has. -- Stinger "Gray Shockley" wrote in message .com... Your reading comprehension needs work. The claim was that RS ever made
anything (read it again, slowly). That is not the case. "tommyknocker" wrote in message ... CW wrote: "Tony Meloche" wrote in message ... Radio Shack is owned by Tandy. Tandy does manufacture wire. STINGER,
I would Agree with your assessment of the Justice AM Antenna. "Also, to answer another post, yes -- it is directional, but I don't find it as quite as directional as a CCRadio+, even though it has two of the same 8-inch ferrite coils in it that the CCRadio has." To me Justice AM Antenna by C. Crane Co. is a "Great Signal Magnet" for those who are in locations that have very poor AM/MW Reception. * The Justice AM Antenna is directional but not as directional as a Select-A-Tenna Model 541-M; or a home made Box Loop Antenna of about 15" or bigger. * The Justice AM Antenna's 'advantage' over the Select-A-Tenna Model 541-M; or a home made Box Loop Antenna of about 15" or bigger; is that is an ACTIVE "Tuned AM/MW Antenna" and because of it's built-in Amplifier the Justice AM Antenna has more Gain. SAT= http://www.selectatenna.com/ IMHO: When compared to the Quantum "QX" Loop Antenna or the Kiwa MW Air Core Loop Antenna: The Justice AM Antenna is NOT as Directional as those two. QX= http://www.dxtools.com/PRODUCTS.htm KIWA= http://www.kiwa.com/kiwaloop.html FWIW: For me the Justice AM Antenna will Always be the "Justice AM Antenna (JAMA) that is sold by the 'c. crane co.' .
