What would happen if the governments abandon the SW broadcast bands? How much effort would the government agencies make tracking down and prosecuting unlicensed broadcasters? Enforcement depends, not only on the law, but on how many important toes get stepped on. I'll guess they will have more important things to do with their time and budgets unless the pirates interfere with the established broadcasters, TV, radio amateurs or whatever. I suppose they could even legitimize hobby SW broadcasting and charge a reasonable licence fee. Treat the SW broadcast bands like a national park. Frank Dresser |
