Sorry I am just now checking back into this group.
You could be right, Steve. In GH's news, there was some question about 13740 and Cuba, which is used by RNV when 13750 isn't. But I got good signal on 17350 that time of day (1900 on), whereas, two days later (20 April) when I tuned in, 13740 was about half as strong. There may be frequency sharing, if not transmitter sharing between the two countries. A report from RNV did say it broadcast on SW 8 hours daily. The second time I heard it, there was just the usual man-woman tag team news cast. A 20M ham beam wouldn't have told me anything. They're both in a line SE of me. If that 13750 broadcast was from Cuba, then the skip was short. Or, 13750's location is in Cuba and 13740's location is in Venezuela, which is about twice as far from me than is Cuba. 73, Bill, K5BY SE Texas |
