It's pretty sad IMO, that show is a HUGE part of Americana and just because cheap butts won't send it two dollars but listen to it, people like me aren't going to get to hear it anymore and I was just getting into the characters and storyline. The original "Amos & Andy" broadcasts are available on CD for anyone who enjoys that kind of thing. Art Oh? Only a few of the original broadcasts of A&A from the era that Ed Boulton is re-creating have survived. Even though the show was distributed to radio stations nationwide on LP, the records carried a label that said "destroy after broadcast" as the creators were afraid of unauthorized use. So what Ed is doing on WBCQ is truly recreating lost broadcasts, just like he says. |
