antenna is V- ed. not in a straight line. the limited
instruction that came with the ant shows a picture of
a V inline/ straight. i know what your thinking; me too.
i contacted alpha-delta and ask about this, they said
i could mount it center up and legs at 90 degrees with
almost no lose of receive eff. it almost becomes a
double sloper at less than 90 degrees. been a long time
that i played with ant. the alpha-delta will be 40 ft and
the long wire will be lowered to 20 ft. like Steve said-
play with and see what ya get. almost ready to retire here,
so, i got time before the winter returns..
thanks really high frequency. let you guys know how i
make out here...

thanks Steve. see what you mean. if it appears there is
an interaction, i could drop the long wire 10 ft and clear
the V by 20 ft, and still have the long wire 20 ft off the
ground. if i can get the grand kids over this weekend, we'll
give her a try. the long wire is tied off to a pulley, so
i can take her up or down. thanks Steve, have a great 4th...

DRIFTER,

If as you describe your current Antenna set-up with the Top-Fed
Double Sloper laid out in a Horizontal "V". IIRC the reception
pattern of this Antenna configuration tends to be 'directional'
from the Apex of the "V" towards the End-Tips.

some thing to ponder. the legs will be about
80 to 90 degrees apart. from 40ft high to 10ft low on
a 60 degree slop. i'll fire another email to alpha-delta
and check on the directional pattern of this set-up. i
had given some thought to the side to side and end to end
of a long wire. guess i'll get an education on this one.
it all seemed easy back in the 50s/60s when i was a kid with
a new ticket. (lot easier to climb back then too). going to
rely on Steve and the gang here. and a little web surf and
see if someone somewhere used this config.
thanks reallyhighfreq- gives me more to think about...
