There is a link on the Degen DE1105 on www.degen.com.cn, it translates
to "DE1105 competes guessed the standard answer makes known" in Engrish when using babelfish.altavista.com. Linked off their main page, it appears to be answers to a contest they had for people to guess the features of the upcoming DE1105: http://www.degen.com.cn/forum/dispbb...D=31250&page=1 The original questions can be found here with some commentary by a forum poster. http://www.degen.com.cn/forum/dispbb...D=31252&page=1 Running the original questions and answers through babelfish, and referencing the official answers in the first link, and using my best skills of Engrish to English translation, the following are the specs the best I can tell. The short version is, the DE-1105 will be similar in size to the 1102, dual conversion, with a similar sized speaker to the 1102, SW coverage will be about 5.80MHZ to 26.10MHZ, may not have SSB (see #6), display style is more like 1102, definitely not like the 1103, similar keyboard to 1102 apparntly, with a tuning knob like the 1103, variable rate on the tuning knob, volume is the "digital" control like the 1103. Backlight is green. 1. Size: 11.8×7.2×2.4cm 2. Number of keys: between 22-24 3. something to do with battery life, incomprehensible 4. Sleep timer is 1-99 min 5. DX/Local switch is not present anymore 6. Something to do with ssb, "has the second demonstration function without ssb" 7. Backlight is green 8. FM stereo/mono is handled by a key, not a mechanical switch 9. Small speaker like the DE1102, is similar sized (pocket sized) 10. 3 settable alarms, looks like 11. You can set the frequency to go with an alarm 12. Retains the station memories indefinitely without power 13. Display is more 1102 style, not with the faux display needle like the 1103. 14. FM is 70 to 108 mhz. 15. Tuning resolution in SW is 1 khz, given reason is to listen to HAMS 16. Signal strength meter is on the LCD screen 17. Scanning through frequencies jumps through the major bands, skips regions in between. 18. Single key switches between MW/SW/FM 19. Unlike the 1101/1102/1103, the antenna is an optimal harmonic length for FM. 20. Tuning is via manual/automatic/memory/direct input frequency/or a tuning knob. 21. Takes 2 AA batteries, speaker is 50 mm. 22. 9/10K steps for MW are chosen through the panel, instead of through a switch in the battery compartment like previously. 23. "Hold" function to prevent accidental keypresses is on the keyboard, not a seperate switch. 24. Tuning knob is on the right hand side. 25. SW coverage is 5.80MHZ — 26.10MHZ 26. DX/Local gain is automatically controlled. 27. The signal meter has 10 bars. 28. To assign memories, you can use numerical entry or the +/- keys. 29. The earphones are treated like an antenna in FM mode, and the whip is disabled. 30. original question isn't here, something about the keyboard layout. 31. -18 C to 45 C is operating temperature. 32. In FM mode, the tuning knob is in switchable 50/100 khz steps. 33. memory is split up into 10 pages, page 0 is for auto-tuning 34. about the screen and keyboard: "mirror surface alumina kneading board + nanometer coating glass lens" 35. Dual conversion intermediate frequency is 28 mhz 36. Battery charging is automatic or you can enter a time. 37. 1000 memories 38. The step size on the tuning knob is 1/5 khz, and the step size using the +/- keys is 5 khz. 39. 32 step volume control, controlled with a number entered or with the tuning knob (1103 style). 40. More about the volume control, looks like 1103 style, maybe slightly modified (faster response?) |
