While vacationing in the Cayman Islands several years ago, about the
only US station I could receive down there was 880 WCBS in the evenings. While in Bermuda a few years back, all of the listed NYC stations came through quite well at night. If I remember correctly, some NYC stations were coming through in the evenings down at Disney World in Florida. "Charlie B." wrote in message om... 1130 WBBR Nn ID Businesstalk w/yl and om with Ausralian accents anyone have any idea of the station? That is WBBR, or Bloomberg Business Radio as they prefer to be called. It's parent is a "business news" company founded by the present mayor of NYC, Mike Bloomberg. In the evening/early morning, they appear to have a distinct preference for correspondents with British accents. BTW, I'm about 60 mi. S of you. |

Chicago area here. 660 WFAN 710 WOR Heard it once or twice, but it's right next to powerhouse WGN 720 here. 770 WBC Right next to WBBM. Heard quite nicely recently when WBBM went off for maintenance. 880 WCBS Close to local WLS 890, but WLS has such a crappy antenna ground that WCBS can be heard from time to time. 1010 WINS Too close to 1000 WSCR or whatever it is now. 1050 WEVD Not audible here. 1130 WBBR Nope. 1560 WQEW Seasonal. Used to listen to it regularly when it was a standards station. -- At the end of the new Kerry ad: "I'm John Kerry, and I approved of this ad before I voted against it." |

Anyone outside the area please respond with comment and location. Approx 400 miles south-SW of NYC 660 WFAN Always listenable, sometimes sounds local: best sports talk in the country FWIW 710 WOR Sometimes audible, sometimes not, never real clear 770 WBC Decent at night, better as night wears on. 880 WCBS VG at night 1010 WINS usually good at night but not as clear as CGS and FAN 1050 WEVD no--didn't even no it was there. 1050 is a mess 1130 WBBR Bloomberg radio--pretty good at night mostly--you can fall asleep to Brits reading business news 1560 WQEW I get pop music here decently but I've never listened long enough to ID I'm curious--how do you get WBZ Boston (1030), one of my favorite late night stations and a blowtorch? |

Here near Chicago, they're not strong but they're VERY consistently receivable year-round. -- At the end of the new Kerry ad: "I'm John Kerry, and I approved of this ad before I voted against it." |

I used to listen to Larry all the time, when he still had one of the few late-night nutshows that didn't cover the world (a la Art Bell). It's great to hear he's still alive and kicking. Does he still do his hypnosis schtick? Bruce Jensen |

Here in SW Michigan - exactly 90 miles East of Chicago - WBZ'z reception varies by night from excellent to "distant", but I can always raise them. When living in Detroit as a boy, WBZ was "local station" clear *any* night after dark. Tony |
