I'm not suggesting a 100% markup isn't fairly stupid, but I've seen
conflicting reports on whether this is still available or not. I
think the degree of stupidity depends on that. Is it available at
retail or not?

The ANLP1 appears to be available at Universal Radio. If so, it's
probably available at other places as well.

I hate to see anyone get the short end of the stick this way, but you
have to do your homework before bidding on any item. Maybe the
'winner' of this auction will eventually find out how much he overpaid
and learn a valuable lesson.

Lack of research always makes a stupid consumer. He has 0 feedback and when
the endorphins generated from his bidding frenzy wear off, I doubt he'll pay
it?

What I will -never- figure out is how these folks know -enough- to
understand what they are bidding on where a specialized item is
concerned, but not enough to know what's exhorbitant. I mean, it's
not like some total newbie with little or no SW knowledge is browsing
Ebay and says "Golleee, what's this? I'm gonna get me one o' them"
Or is it?

I think what happens sometimes is, Some people put a real high number on an
item thinking nobody will bid much past what its worth and some other genius
with the same idea does the same thing and Viola!! he gets screwed trying to
gain the edge.

Assuming the bidding is on the level here, that looks like what
might've happened. There is not one but two people who want to pay
more than $190. So far.

Actually this is what make America great/stupid? Does anyone really think a
new Ford F150 basic truck is work $35,000, or a house of 1000 sqFt in
California worth $500,000? It's what someone is willing to pay!
