"Jim Hackett" ) writes: The guy, I don't remember his name, who was building the "ultimate" M.W. receiver? Not another Satellit 900 fiasco, I hope... -- Jim It was Pete KE9OA. Remember, this is to be from a company that isn't in the market already. I get the impression that if the receiver happens it's because Pete is working on it himself. From July 24th to this newsgroup: I don't have a picture of this unit. Right now, I am working seven days a week on a couple of projects at work. This will go on for the next couple of months. To get this prototype up an running, I was averaging 3 hours of sleep a night for a week straight. Last night was the first time I slept for 8 hours. In another week, I will start the Fractional N synthesizer design. In other words, he's working on various things at work, and it seems like the shortwave receiver is lower priority. Around the same time, I'm sure he said something about the receiver was going on the backburner for a while, but I've not tried to see if there is a message to that effect. Actually, that thread back in July was started by you too. If you're so curious about this receiver, you should at least keep track of the details. Seeing that you started that older thread, and the tone of both, I now suspect you are less interested in the receiver than in pointing out it's "not here yet". Michael |
