Hello from Hilversum, It has been quite an eventful week. On Tuesday, Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was killed in the street in Amsterdam, and the story made headlines around the world. As in the case of the murder of Pim Fortuyn, Radio Netherlands found itself covering a national story that only a few years ago would have been unthinkable. The story shared the front pages of Wednesday's Dutch newspapers with the US election. And, because the US is such a big media market, the effects will also be felt here in Europe and elsewhere.
