(in message ): Reason to bury all power lines maybe??....And bury BPL under a rock hopefully!! Question? Those of you that live in a townhome or other area with buried utilities.....Can you tell me if these area's seem to be quieter overall than locations with overhead utilities? I lived in both a house and a townhouse in Reston (Virginia). The bad things about the buried phone and the buried power lines was that they weren't anymore reliable than areas in which I've lived used power poles. The lines buried ha no noticeable effect on SW listening for any reason - hum or otherwise. /However/, notice that the places I've lived were residential, as above, and BEQs and barracks. There were never high voltage lines anywhere close. I started paying attention to the "high-voltage cancer, especially on children" argument about thirty years ago and both "sides" have proved their arguments innumerable times (to their own satisfaction, anyway). ++ Gray /on the CCradio lately/ |
