You think all Germans are Nazis and Canadians are retards, too.

Does this give you a hint why you are giving Americans a bad name?

Grow up, hillbilly...don't be like your President.

You just keep toting that portable, 'tard boy, and giving CanaDuh a bad
name.

LMFAO at the 'tard.

Y'all come bac when you get a handle on the DX thing, ya hear?

Some of us have a perfect handle on DX, and a more reasonable one on
foreign
relations

DE
R8, R-75, tentec350, R390, 76 countries verified on MW.

How many of those MW countries did you verify from one more or less fixed
location? Or were you traveling about?

All from Cleveland, OH.

Well, that's pretty good then.

You both have a major perception problems in your descriptions.

There are no national programs (that I know of anyway) that even try to
achieve a 100% rational + compassionate approach to the problems the US
and world face. Hate and irrationality and downright stupidity come
washing in tsunami waves from both sides. Anybody with an objective
bone in his thick skull can hear it, day in and day out, relentlessly
pouring out of "got mine, now get out" Limbaugh and those Marxist
ninnies on Air America. I have not yet heard Al Franken's show, and I
generally like his perspective (with some reservations), but the guys
on Fox and *some* of the Public Radio guys are just as warped.

Commercial radio is flaccid...no worthy perspective at all

There is no decent across-the-board reporting on national airwaves
these days. A person just has to listen to as much as he can stomach,
and try to sort it out himself. Hopefully, the people of the US and
world are still intelligent enough to achieve this...
Although I doubt that too.

First you call the fine American patriots on Air America ''Marxist
ninnies'' then you admit you have never listened. I challenge you to
point out factual inaccuracies on their broadcasts in a manner similar
to the mediamatters.org web site and its debunking of the Limbaugh/Fox
News daily parade of lies.

(And one other silly question - are the Mexican signals still required
to air "The Mexican National Hour" on Sunday nights? I thought I
heard this went away recently, perhaps coinciding with the new
presidential administration south of the border.)

Yes. They are. And up to 4 minutes per hour of government PSAs, too.

Also, doesn't the President of Mexico have the right to pre-empt all
local programming for a speech? (I heard that happen once or twice on
690....)

I think they're also *required* to play the national anthem at midnight....

I programmed XTRA for 5 years. The US contingent was committed to
following both the Mexican as well as FCC regulations. I actually had
Norman Vincent Peale use an obscenity when I told him we couldn't air
his show that had been sold by our US sales reps. No religion allowed.
No alcohol. Far more stringent than the US.

Do they still allow cussing (at least in English, don't know about
in Spanish) on Mexican stations? (I recall XETRA-FM getting away with
a few f-bombs in the 80's....)

Mexico is much stricter than the US, but English content seems not to be
monitored and only comes to the SCT's attention if someone reports it.

When I was at XTRA that was true. It probably still is. I had
interaction with the President at the time and liked him, but couldn't
imagine anyone, except Castro, speaking for hours at a time.

The deafening roar of dials being changed was one of my most painful
experiences.

I think they're also *required* to play the national anthem at midnight....

I don't recall that.

Is it considered cussing if the words don't exist in the country's
official language?

Under Noble, that would have been forbidden because we followed both
country's regulations. Things happen. Wardrobes malfunction. I suspect
most stations have had various slips of the tongue the delay didn't
catch.

At WOR we had a food fair called "The Taste of New York" held at
Lincoln Center. We decided to do the Joan Rivers Show live. Various
restaurants set up booths with samples and it cost $10 to get in. Joan
began the show with a comment about how great it was to get free food.
A woman in the audience piped up and said they paid for it. Joan's
response: "You paid $10 to eat this sh*t?" It was so close to the open
of the show the delay hadn't built up and it went on both WOR and the
network.

Joan had a chat with management the next day. Fortunately there were
so many people there making so much noise, the vendors never heard it.
The food was terrific.
