A ham radio swap meet isn't a bad idea either. I picked up a Just make sure the radio works before you pay for it. direct drive turntable at one for $10, which was a real steal since the turntable itself only needed minor tweaking to get to good operation. --Mike L. |

I'll sell you my Kaito KA 1101 for 50 bucks, and not a penny less.

your response is a bit illogical and typical of the recent decline in
shortwave broadcasting. you assume that everyone in the US has a nice internet connection. he mentions he is in the boonies and is impoverished. logically we can conclude that his internet access is not one favorable to steaming audio for hours at a time. wemust also conclue he has only one phone line and that it would be not good to tie it up for periods at a time. I suggest the gentleman search for a USED radio, probably one that is not in the best of cosmetic condition but is a good performer. These radios are out there. Mr. Spock of Vulcan |

Mr. Spock of Vulcan No offense intended, but I have to blurt this out... This has to be the *worst* "Spock" I've come across in quite some time on usenet. Now, I've seen some bad ones - really bad ones - but this one shudders takes the entire cake! It would be humorous if it weren't so awful... -=jd=- I'd say something jd but I don't want him pulling the Vulcan Death Grip on me. ![]() P.S. If he tries the mind probe on me, he's a gonner! Nobody has ever survived!!!!!!!! Bwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! B.H. The... PAAAAIIIIInnnnnnnn!! Actually, I never got to see that episode where he did the mind-reading thing with a rock, but a friend is an *avid* (way overboard) collector of Star-Trek anything - she ensures I get to hear more than I care to... -=jd=- I like boring my friends about radio propagation when I get drunk ![]() B.H. |
