3 gun men open fire with automatic weapons in a NY mall shooting serveral
people.

They were wearing all black and had machine guns.
What does that tell you?

They shot people randomly also.

Watch then try and cover it up..

Hey, a tribute to the Republicans for letting the assault weapon law ban
end. Let's put more in the hands of terrorists.

That was a stupid thing to say. What differance would that make? With your
way of thinking, we should outlaw airplanes because they were used to take
out the Twin Towers.

This whole thread only proves the point that people are paranoid of
terrorism. There have been whack cases in the US for decades popping off
people at random. It's not terrorism, it's crazy *******s taking our
societal lack or respect for others and for human life in general to it's
most absurd conclusion. In a time when kids kill kids for their shoes, or
just for the fun of it, it seems to me that we have a lot more to be
concerned about.

Yea, during the time this thread chattered, drunk drivers
killed dozens. Where are our priorities?

Stirring around in the mix of mankind has always been a dangerous
proposition from the beginning of time. It's just that now days we are so
damn rude and have a total lack of manners about everything we do. This
modern media with it's constant emphasis on the negative and split second
news coverage only makes the world smaller and more cramped. Anything
negative sells on TV. Hum? Why is that? There's just too damn many people
and we are all getting tired of each other. I think we finally perfected our
art of being a bunch of real selfish pricks. Poor f--kin me!

No! No! Let's outlaw breathing - the terrorists breathed during 9/11.

Maybe outlaw penises because occasionally one fathers a psychopath? (Sorry,
can't help myself. Nothing like over-simplifying complex issues into
opposites. This MUST be genetic for humans - unable to understand the
shades of grey between positions.)

Gotta wade in here and expand the OT more OT (as if the topic has never been
over discussed here):
Gun laws will not prevent determined people (terrorists or other criminals).
They may prevent some crimes of passion - data is scarce on that. They
probably prevent some drive-byes. Well, its hard to have a drive by
knifing. (okay that's a joke). I think the culture and structure of a
society is mostly responsible for violence. Canada didn't have gun laws
until about 20 years ago and now has very stringent ones - at terrible
expense (we don't know about scandal --- Yet!). Violence with firearms has
always been less here than the USA. In my province there is no enforcement
of the federal gun law - too expensive for too little return for one thing.
There were 600-700 murders in Canada last year - 32 million people - about
the same as L.A. How many there? Probably many things together account for
violence in a society.
