Not long after I had sent those two pieces of plastic CRAP (I don't even
call them real radios at all.Are y'all listening? Art Bell and George Noory,,, Watch Out! George Noory, them Ouija Boards are gonna gitcha!) so-called "radios" BACK to ccrane (Are you listening? Bob Crane) company,I was listening to Bo Gritz on my shortwave radio one morning and an old guy phoned in to Bo's radio talk show and he said he had bought one of those ATS-909 shortwave radios from ccrane company and when he saw that it was made of plastic,he sent that radio back to ccrane company. cuhulin |

I was shocked, SHOCKED!, to read that they are making portable radios out of PLASTIC! Good thing I bought my radios when they were still using lead! That's what makes them taste better! Plastic? Too much like fast food. mike |

Those old tube type radios are the best, esecially if they have wooden
cabinets and usually they will pick up longer distance AM stations better too.(I own some tube type radios) Set a plastic radio or a plastic radio with digital/lights/readouts out in the hot sun or on the dashboard of your vehicle out in the hot sun and watch them go completly to RUIN! Let electromagnetic radiation zap tube type radios and they will stutter along for a while and then come back to life as though nothing ever happened, just as good as new.Plastic transistors **** isn't worth a ****! Them Eton plastic radios that some folks were talking about how nice that plastic looks! BULL****! cuhulin |

I am not sure if you comprehend that CCrane and Sangean are NOT the
same people. one is in Taiwan and the other is in California. |

I already knew ccrane company is located in Fortuna,California (way up
in north California, not far fom the Pacific Ocean and not far from Oregon) because I ordered both of those radios from my ccrane catalog.I didn't know the radios are made in Taiwan, but that is NOT why I sent both radios back to ccrane company.I still SAY ccrane radios are JUNK! Over rated and over priced JUNK! and I will NOT strike out again at ccrane company. cuhulin |

At the same time I ordered that first radio, the one with AM/FM/weather
band and two tv bands, from ccrane company,I also ordered one of those round antennas that has a knob in the middle of it,I paid about $57.00 for that antenna, and I ordered one of those Radiometers, the gadget that has four little vanes inside of a piece of glass that looks sort of like a light bulb and the vanes spin around when placed in the sunshine or under an electric lamp, because I used to own a gadget like that about 55 years ago. That antenna didn't show me **** either.Useing that antenna with that radio,it wouldn't pick up KVOO Tulsa,Oklahoma (KVOO used to be on the AM band) any better than some of my other radios.Any good company keeps records of the products they sell and records of the products returned for at least ten years in my opinion and if Bob Crane is reading this rec.radio.shortwave news group (which I doubt he does) he can damn sure pull up the data from about six or seven years ago when I bought and I returned every one of the products I bought from ccrane company, except I did keep my Radiomometer though. When I ordered that Sangean ATS-909 shortwave radio,I also ordered one of those shortwave antennas that is nothing more than a piece of wire and a recoil reel with an alligator clip on one end of the wire.I sent that stuff back to ccrane company too. There is an old saying,The Customer Is Always Right! cuhulin |
