Personally I am all set with portables...I have my Grundig YB-400
(which I use with a Sony AN-LP1), which is excellent for me right now. I am looking forward to the warmer months, when I'll be able to take it outside and hear the world in great clarity. I also have a Grundig Mini World 100 at work. I pretty much just listen to AM on it, which is fine. I like it because it's small and is easy to tuck away in a drawer, or put in a coat pocket. I hope to get a decent tabletop eventually, though the usefulness of a tabletop seems limited for me...being in an apartment, I can't run a wire outside. I kind of like the Satellit 800 as well (at least the reviews I've read); maybe I'll get one of those eventually. It's cool if someone wants to pick up every portable that comes out...but I wonder how different one Chinese portable is from the next...it's not like there are so many different features between each radio. |
