I don't know about the CD player, but the stock antenna on my
Pathfinder worked fine for SW. One time I ran some extra wire from the antenna to the back of the vehicle with no noticeable improvement in reception. More wire may have helped. Since selling the Pathfinder, the stereo is now "installed" in my home shack using a 12-volt battery, bookshelf speakers, and outdoor longwire antenna. And no, it won't receive cell phone frequencies. I want to buy a CD changer but I'm not sure what units are compatible. Will it work with any Sony cd changer? Next, I was planning to use my regular whip car antenna. Does anyone recommend replacing the antenna with a better one for SW reception? Finally, Some nutcase told me you can pickup cell phone conversations with the XR-CA620X. Is that true? I can't be or is it? Thanks any responses to this posting in answering these questions. Peace. John in Boston |
