I thank you for that, sir, and may I say, I fully intend to. Darren

The implication of that dubious quote, is that someone is willing to
kill for the sake of their anti-smoking zeolousness. Darren

You sound like the asshole that informed me he WAS going to light up
in my home, knowing full well I have respiratory problems and an allergy
to tobacco smoke. I pitched the ******* out the front door and told
him to stay away from my house.

Apparently, you feel as though you've got me cornered on this issue of
math.
Again, my math is of the casino variety. A gambler's odds.
I'm simply trying to appeal to a more philosophical aspect of the
issue.
If the higher thinkers, the enlightened one's amidst us in our
culture, invoke their will on me, I'll squirm out from under the boot.
I maintain that I am free to smoke. If I blow my smoke in your face,
I've crossed a line.
You're free not to smoke. If you reach for my freedom, you've crossed
a line. Darren

Darren,

I salute you with a Partagas Number Ten!

When the nagging nannies try to lecture me, I drop an "F-bomb" or
two. There is no reasoning with either the rabid nonsmoker proselytizers,
nor with most smokers.

For myself, I choose to not allow myself to be treated as a pariah.

You're better off just putting the Nazis in your killfile.

73,

Steve

Yup, anyone who would do that is definitely an asshole,
and you did the right thing. A man's home is his castle,
and I enjoy pipes and cigars in mine. However, if a guest
with genuine health problems is visiting, I treat them with
consideration.

I have to wonder, though, at the stridency of some folks.
I favor common sense, accomodation, and consideration.
Those are all, sadly, very rare nowadays.

Steve

This goes out to the oxygen-tent guy, who had the problem with a pesky
smoker. On the behalf of smokers everywhere, I apologise for his
uncivil behavior. Darren

I often wonder where they grow those people as well. Like the jerk lighting
up in Michael's house. Unbeleivable.

I think we were all better of and less paranoid back in the old days before
the health Nazis came along. Yea we live longer now days but we're
constantly being told that everything can kill us. It's a drag!

In 1972 I did quit smoking for nineteen years.I carried some toothpicks
around with me and instead of lighting up a cigarette,I chewed on a
toothpick. It took about two months for all of the nicotine to get out of
my body and I didn't have a craving for a cigarette anymore.I have a six
ounce can and a half a six ounce can of TOP brand name cigarette tobacco
here. When I finish smoking that tobacco,I am going to try to stop
smoking again.

Why not quit now? Are you afraid of that unused product going to waste?
Think about it...does using it on yourself really beat throwing it into a
trash can?
