Cuhulin, I would indeed be more worried about China or North Korea than
Iran, though I don't believe that a single weapon would be effective.

Follow Roscoe Bartlett's work and you may be surprised.

Just *one* 100-kt fission device, detonated over Omaha,
would be enough to render 80% of the nations electronic
communications capability inert.

Fiber Optic,Fiber Optic is the way to go.The more the better.Or does
that make any sense? I saw a website a few days ago about a company
which sells Fiber Optic cables if anybody wants the URL of the website.I
think I emailed it to myself.

Two or three years ago, either Popular Science or Popular Mechanics
magazine had an article about electro magnetic devices that could be
built for $500.00.
I DON't want one!

If you want something to worry about then consider the possibility of
an asian version of the EU. Imagine China and India as the center of a
regional economic unit that could dwarf the EU once it got going. That
unit aligned against Japan and the U.S. would quite a force. Is there
room for two AU organizations - one in Africa and one in Asia?

indeed, surely it would take quite a few bombs to cover the U.S.

if it did happen i think the government would resort to web.tv boxes to
communicate.

@z14g2000cwz.googlegroups.com:

My Start Page, when I open Internet Explorer, is actually a page of

popular
links in table form that I made using Microsoft Word, and the page is
stored on the drive. It works out nice, opens very quick, and doesn't call
for a connection when Internet Explorer is opened. I have animated images
dispersed throughout the page to give it life.

World Net Daily used to be one of the links on the start page, but no

more.
I deleted it sometime ago and have never regretted it. This article shows
why.

Obviously we live in a very large country, maybe they could pull this off
over a country of insignificant size, but not the U.S.

I have relegated World Net Daily to the usual source of Neo-Con news
available in so many places.

Dr. Artaud

Uh ohhhhh .. I've been told that even my R4c has some solid state
parts.

Might be time to dust out the SP-600JX.

Whatcha got, Bro. Lawrence?

Wouldn't want you left outa the SWL-ing frenzy that is sure to follow
"the big bang".

Brother El Dubyah, I have the finest HF receiver ever made, a jen-yoo-wine
Collins 51J-4, and it's recapped and aligned. I also have a nice Lister
12/2
diesel genset (no electric start, no batteries) with two genheads in spare,
and
a buncha drivebelts.

Just in case.

There is nothing new here. Why do you think our country has been running
fiber-optic cable underground, and Apple's iPod has an all metal back on it!
LOL!

EMP was more of a threat before high-density ICs. The interconnecting
wires must be of significant length to devlope a high enough voltage
to hurt the juctions.

I'd say this is just more fascist scare tactics. Grow a pair.

If you seriously believe the validity of the daily lineup of
utter bullshi+ that appears on WorldNetDaily
then I guess you also believe the 'news stories'
reported in tabloids like the Weekly World News.....
