Sounds like George Bush speaking. Can't somebody be for some things and
against some things? You have to be 100% for America? So if America lays
a
huge turd, one will tell us it doesn't stink because it's an American
turd?
America can never do wrong if you are patriotic?

So? Your point? I like Bush....I never said America can do no wrong.
What I did say was that I will support her come hell or high water.
You are trying to put things into the discussion that are not there.

There are plenty
of things that you can do to show support for your country.

Yeah, you can put one of those made in China yellow ribbons on your made
in
Japan car.

If that is what you want to do then be my guest.

Personally I never would as it seems disingenuous.

I just get
tired of people bad mouthing the US. Those guys are entitled to their
own stance on things and I'm not complaining. I guess now if you
support the US you are an idiot. Well then label me an idiot and I'm
damn pround to be one!

And if one disagrees one is branded unpatriotic and worthy of contempt as
has been seen lately.

Did I brand YOU unpatriotic? I don't remember that if I did.

Ok, not you. But I am tired of the right and using patriotism as a
political weapon.

That said, I'm a patriot.
I'm going to stand behind the US come hell or high water.

I don't think that has anything to do with being patriotric. Idiotic
maybe.

You are always welcome to do as you wish thanks to folks like me.

Whatever that means.

It's pretty self explanatory. It means that patriots like me pay for
people that have no loyalty to their country.

You are full of ****. The last thing this country needs is an ignorant
asshole like you. It's obvious that you haven't the first clue about
what
it
means to be patriotic.

I don't think that I'm ignorant at all. I would never ignore an order
to blow you away if the government gave me such an order. In fact, I
would be more than happy to do it.

So what you going to do, sit there and call me names because I have a
different belief than you? Why don't you just go ahead and make fun of
all the other folks that have different beliefs from you while you are
at it? The list is long...Gays, Jews, atheists...the list goes on. Go
ahead have some fun at someone else's expense.

We have a second amendment that allows us to bear arms. Why did we get
this
amendment? Answer: to allow us to protect ourselves against the state -
the
same state that you choose to blindly follow. Personally I believe it is
the
true role of a patriot to pursue truth and liberty, because those are the
principles this country was founded on. As a patriot I abhore and condemn
those who lie and commit injustices in the name of this country. I will
not
blindly follow Mr. Bush over a cliff.

Your meaning of being a patriot and my meaning of being a patriot are
2 different things. But, you have the right to believe as you wish and
I won't try to stop you in any way. Why do you attack me because of my
beliefs?

Because this is a public forum and you put your "beliefs" (i.e. prejudices)
out for all to see in the first post in this thread. If you don't want to
people to "attack" you, you might consider keeping your posts on topic. This
is a shortwave radio forum. If you want to discuss politics there are many
more suitable places to do it.

And as a succinct answer to your orginal question "How come I'm not
surprised?", the answer is obvious: because you only hear what you want to
hear. It is simply impossible to argue with someone who believes that
perversion of the truth is fine as long as it's the good ol' US of A who's
the pervert.

Yeeee-haw, good buddy! Over and out.

What a crock. You posted that you got OUT of the forces because you got TIRED of
defending the rights of people who didn't agree with you. Were you lying then or
are you lying now?

You have managed to miss the whole point of democracy. The government is your
SERVANT, not master. You owe the government NOTHING. The people that work for
YOU are the ones who owe YOU for the privilege of serving.

Until you and your drone buddies get that through your apparently brainwashed
heads, your servants will keep taking away your money and liberty. Given any
opportunity, these 'servants' turn into self serving scum. They seem to have
your complete support. Shameful.

"Politically correct" is a false concept that forces people to ignore
bad things, ideas and people so you don't offend anyone. It is the
dumbest idea I've ever heard, short of letting everyone on the
Internet. If someone offends me, I tell them. If someone comes up with
a stupid idea, I'll tell them that its stupid, and why. If someone is a
royal pain in the ass, I'll tell them I don't want anything to do with
them. To sum it all up, being "Politically correct" means you're afraid
to open your mouth to anyone, about anything. I'm too damn old and too
tired for that liberal garbage. I am not a sheep, I'm the one chasing
the sheep with the shears.

Feigning or actually being offended because someone else either writes
about
or displays patriotism.

Ad if someone feigns or is actually ofended that someone else displays a
contempt for patriotism, that would be politically incorrect?

There is no "Politically incorrect", any more than there is
"Politically correct". Both are bull concepts with no meaning
whatsoever.

What most people call "politically correct" nowadays was called "respect" or
"manners" when I grew up..

So, where do these people come from - these public servants you speak of?
Do not the ranks of "Public Servant" include everyone from street-sweeper
to Governor; from soldier to President? Tracy has done his part and served
over two decades and I admire that sacrifice. You better be thankful for
the public servants serving you as well. If not for those willing to serve
those who are not willing to serve, you may find yourself having to peel
your own grapes and performing other unpleasant tasks beneath your social
station...

I understand the concept of respect, but a lot of garbage gets the
"PC" label, rather than face the truth. Right after 9/11 some idiot
newscaster was talking about "Not saying anything to offend the
terrorists". I wanted to puke. On the other hand, respect is a two way
street, and respect is earned, not mandated. I had the owner's son of a
company I worked for get in my face and yell that he "Demanded my
respect!". He had stolen new hand tools out of my toolbox, and in
general he couldn't be trusted. I told him that you don't demand
respect, that you have to earn it every day.
