Hello dxAce, this is Bill from Macomb, Michigan, do you copy?
Considering you are in Michigan, and quite knowledgeable about HF, I think you'd be the person to ask... What does the Michigan area provide in the way of shortwave, HF listening? I'm not interested in regular broadcast for entertainment, or amateur radio, but more for government, military, and coast guard. Have you explored these? Thanks, Bill Crocker Macomb, Michigan |

Are you interested in HF only from Michigan? If that's the case, I'm really not sure how much is out there. In the past I've heard the Coast Guard on HF here, and there certainly used to be some ship traffic on HF, but I've not checked that out in a good number of years. dxAce Michigan USA Thanks, Bill Crocker Macomb, Michigan |

Sorry to piggyback on this, but didn't you buy an R8A recently, Ace?? Have you had a chance to play with it yet and compare it to your other Drakes?? Yes, it's pretty much similar to the R8 and R8B. I don't note any real differences in receiving capability. Currently sitting in the box whilst I decide what to do with it. dxAce Michigan USA |
