It was AFAIK a student visa.

These last for typically one year however one can get an extension for a
further year by showing proof that ones college fees have been paid in
advance.

After that period though one 'normally' has to return to ones home country.

One exception is if one can find a sponsor and a good lawyer to receive
a work permit but this must be impossible for an 'electrician'.!

My 2p is that some of this is a government, media, police BS smoke
screen for killing an innocent person.

I think they call it 'damage limitation'.

I have been waiting for this to come up. The Police are damned if they
shoot and damned if they dont shoot. Some one from some where will
moan, winge, wine and complain all about the Police and the way they acted.
Well LISTEN......... As far as I am concerned they done the right
thing, ok, its very very sad that an Inocent person got killed
BUT.........If they didnt shoot and he WAS a bomber and it blew up and
killed a load of people then people would have good cause to winge,
wine, moan and complain.
At times the Police just cant win, because every one else would have
done it better.

So letts all tell the Police NOT to shoot and to take a chance and see
if he will blow up or not, just in case he is Inocent. **** THAT.... I
dont think so.
So next time then, if the Police DONT shoot and one goes off and if one
of the people who get killed are a son or daughter or other loved one,
then just say to your self ohhhhh thats just fine officer its better not
to shoot in case he was Inoccent. It realy dont matter about the people
who just got blown to pieces does it.

This is REALITY like it or not. We all have to live with it.
The Police are not perfect and will never be so, and if it comes to that
neither are any of us. So for those who will moan, wine, winge and
complain, THINK about it, would you rather take a chance or not?
Knowing full well that chance may be your last on Earth. Ohhh I had
better not shoot him just in case he isnt one.......just to please all
those out there who know better than every oner else on earth.

1. The police spokesperson initially said he was wearing a thick, padded
jacket.

It transpired he was wearing a denim (read that as thin) jacket.

2. The police spokesperson initially said he 'jumped' the ticket
barrier.

It transpired he had a valid travel card.


I have no problem with them shooting him but why lie about the reason
why he was a suspected terrorist bomber?

Yes, he was in this country illegally. The police did not know that when
they shot him!

Also, if you're going to shoot the guy, why not do it out in the street
before he had the opportunity of entering an underground train
compartment full of up to 150 other people?

PS. I'm no whinging liberal. I believe in Texas justice to burglars -
shoot first and ask questions later.

We have "Texas justice" here in Mississippi too,this is the old
South.(South is always best) Florida has a new law that is cool,I hope
all of the Southron states in U.S.A.also adopts that law.I believe the
Brazilian guy was a decent enough guy,he was an electrician,wasen't he?
