Brenda:

Lots of mysteries in the world, you name but a few...

My personal favorite in my city is:

"How can all these 350 lb. women be starving themselves--and a guy can't
tell?"

YUP, I'm a diabetic also and I have learned that if it taste good I can't
have it.
But I'm doing 5.6 last checkup.

5.6?? What number is that? I try in vain to keep my blood glucose below 120
(except, of course, right after meals). Sometimes, if I actually starve
myself, and eat nothing for most of a day, I can get it down to around 85
(low end first thing in the morning is SUPPOSED to be around 60, I've yet to
have it below 116)..

very likely the A1C number Brenda anything before 6 is acceptable

My Old man hovers about 6.5 dispite about everything we do, we are
declaring a wary victory

Myself discovered the onset of my own with nice 14.2 highest the doc
could recall seeing ( and I was feeling really REALLY BAD) shoved it
down to 5.9 other a few months

The A1C measures something that relates to a kind of average Glucose
level

5.6 undoubtedly refers to his HA1c number, which is a measure of ones blood
glucose levels for the three months prior to the test.

I am not diabetic myself but do have a diabetic pet and I know that glucose and
various sugars can interact with proteins in the body. A1C is glycosylated
hemoglobin (i.e. hemoglobin that has a glucose now attached to it) and it gives
the long-term picture of blood glucose levels as opposed to measuring glucose
which can fluctuate transiently throughout the day for one reason or another
(after meals, after exercise, etc.). WRT to my pet, it is fructosamine which would
be measured. If A1C or fructosamine levels are low then the disease is being
regulated.

PJ:

Probably works, I know the FDA here is "chitting" in its pants, and under large
pressure of the drug companies to down play herbal and natural medications
which work...

.... billions are at stake in the drug market. US drug companies are worse than
the illegal pushers at this stage in the game...
