Default Marconi Communications to be Chinese-owned?

The Chinese are sitting on $200 Billion of US dollars which are
becoming increasingly worthless. First they bought the British
automaker ROVER, then tried to get Unocal, and now are talking to
Marconi Communications, the Brit defense contractor.

See all those plastic doodads in your closets? See all those
Chinese-made clothes?
How about TVs and stereos? That's how they'll end up owning everything!

Problem is, everything is now made in China, so we really have no
alternative. Want a new TV? All of them are made in Shenzhen. Want a new
fridge? It's made in Qingdao. Clothes wear out? Your new ones are made
in a Chinese sweatshop. Who decided to place the world's manufacturing
capacity in a country that may become unstable in the future, that is
run by a tyrannical dictatorship that nearly was overthrown by a
religion? Not me. It was the big megacorporations that control
everything in our lives. THEY are authoritarian organizations run by men
who wield absolute power over their realms, who are more powerful than
the President and who treat their employees like plantation slaves. They
answer to nobody, and they only care about easy profits. They ruin the
economies of whole countries-including America-in pursuit of the
almighty dollar. They place the world's manufacturing capacity in a
single country, and the world's intellectual property in another single
country, because that's where the costs are cheapest. What happens if
the CCP collapses, setting off major shortages of nearly everything? Not
their problem; they've already gotten their money. When are we going to
hold the big corporations accountable for what they do? When are we
going to demand that they start placing people above greed? When are we
going to demand that they let go of the stranglehold they have on our
lives? I don't care if I sound like a commie. A few dozen big companies
hold the world hostage and create trade and economic imbalances that
threaten to bring capitalism to its knees, all for easy money. It
doesn't matter who we vote for, they're bought and paid for.

The Chinese are welcome to own everything of mine, as long as they are
willing to pay too much for it. I'd be happy to sell my junk for big bucks.
With a $200 Billion bankroll, the Chinese could make me very happy indeed.

So when you get the $200B for all your junk, there's only more Chinese
junk to spend it on because all American suppliers have been outsourced,
and it gets to be a big circle with an unpredictable foreign player
occupying a major part of the circumference.

My job very well could get outsourced to China. We've already lost
considerable business, management tells us how much cheaper Chinese workers
are, and so on. So, I figure, why don't we import more Chinese? I don't
mean Chinese products, I mean Chinese workers. Hell, if some Chinese guy
wants to do my job, let him do it here, on the same machines I run. Just
let me get my cut.

Let me, and everyone else, whose job is threated by a low-pay Chinese worker
bring in a few of those Chinese workers. The factory could hire them at
half pay, and the threatened American worker (now the Labor Importer) could
take half of that. Four imported Chinese workers and the Labor Importer
would be back where he started, with no work to do but paper work. It's a
win-win-win situation!!

Of course, my imagined pay rate is purely speculative. The Labor Importer
might get even more attractive rates with larger numbers of imported Chinese
workers. Who knows how low the pay rate might go? 25%? 10%? 1%?? Why,
we might see American built cars selling for $3000, American built computers
selling for $30 and American made shoes for $3!!

Well, if all of that happens, I'll leave the Labor Importer business to
somebody else. I'll use my $200 Billion to become a real estate speculator.
You think 30 million illegal immigrants have helped drive up real estate
prices near absurd levels? Just wait 'till the hordes of Chinese workers
come here! We might see modest homes in so-so neighborhoods selling for $3
million!! I'm tellin' ya -- we'll all be rich!!!
