Default MW DX from Hawaii

I was in Hawaii last week and went to the beach after midnight with
another radio buddy and tried some MW DXing using a DX-398, a Kaito
KA-1102 and a Radio Shack MW Loop. We were able to easily copy
stations from Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, and the
Phillippines. It's amazing what you can hear when not interfered with
by local nighttime "power houses" here in the states. The 398
perfromed better due to rejection of some local Honolulu intermod that
came thru on some freqs with the Kaito. The RS loop was of immense
help on most stations.
