Thanks, Mark and Brenda. This just made no sense to me as I hadn't ever
seen this "ploy" before... "Brenda Ann" wrote in message ... "Jim Hackett" wrote in message nk.net... Item # 6556845727 How can an auction start at $1, have 6 bids, all by the same person for $1 and the high bid STILL be $1??? Can anyone splain this? I can field this one (having had the same thing happen). Opening bid is $1. You bid $1.. later, you decide to up the bid to say, $3, so you do. The bid still stays at $1 because no one has bid against you. You keep thinking... maybe I'll bid a bit more.. so you go to $5, $8, $10... so your max bid goes up, but the current bid still stays at $1. But your new bids show up as new bids in the bidding list. |
