The Old Tape Recoder
Oh, I assure you reel to reel is really really really really dead. An
exception would be archive work. Even the cops have solid state recorders for their repeater traffic. Collectors will collect just about anything. That doesn't mean what they collect is useful. I've got electronics gear that hasn't seen power in probably a decade, but I keep it for my collection. Dumb stuff like a real telco blue box, bridge impedance meters, and other useless stuff. I'd never advise anyone to collect what I collect. wrote: Reel to Reel tape recorders a waste of time and money? I don't think so! By the way,I got an email from Kovel's Online this morning.(I have been registered at Kovel's since Febuary 1,2001) Their new book is on the market now.Kovel's Antiques & Collectibles Price List.$19.95.And if you order now,Kovel's will also send you a 16 page leaflet,,,, Fakes,Fantasies, and Reproductions,FREE.A great value if you ask me.Kovel's is THE Bible concerning Antiques and Collectibles. cuhulin |
