It does not even have SSB reception so it is highly doubtful that it would have the complexity of a Sync-AM detector, and not promote that fact! If it is actually making a heterodyne on each AM station as you tune it in, it would seem to be defective. If it is only on some, then the tone is probably caused by image frequencies from other stations - a weakness of the receiver design. Tom |
