Late Night Live
In the last couple weeks Radio Australia has gone from coming in like
gangbusters to barely coming at all. This morning, amid the noise, I heard some interesting music on LNL so I broke down and went for the podcast. It turned out to be a version of Waltzing Matilda (!) like you've never heard before, and good too. 11:34 into http://www.abc.net.au/rn/podcast/feeds/lnl_20051122.mp3 and I heartily reccommend it. You'll thank me for this. Unfortunatly, at about 10 min into the broadcast, host Phillip Adams mentioned this will be his last week at LNL. The combination of interesting guests, quick wit and intellegent conversation has become as welcome as the accompanying 7am cup of coffee. Amoung the handfull of available downloads is a visit with Kurt Vonnegut, also well worth a listen. |

Late Night Live
Waltzing Matilda by Roger McGuinn. That song rolled on for about four
minutes and twenty two seconds,I listened to it a couple of times with my webtv.Speaking of rolling on,I like to find as many different versions of Amazing Grace as I can.A few years ago I found one in Bagpipe and the music rolled on for about fourteen minutes.I want to find it again,if anybody knows where I can? I think it was in either Midi or Wav format. cuhulin |

You'll thank me for this. There's no accounting for taste. Are you into alternative country or something? Came in OK on 9590 here in Seattle. At least my tape sounds about the same as usual. (Since it comes on at 4 AM here, my radio was a bit out of tune). Unfortunatly, at about 10 min into the broadcast, host Phillip Adams mentioned this will be his last week at LNL. Well, at the end of the Thursday show, he said that Norman Swann was taking the chair for the next three weeks, and then the Summer/Christmas Vacation reruns. Sounds like he's going under the knife again. (A couple of weeks back, he said that he was "feeling a bit crook"). Nothing about a permanent departure.
