E1 Vanishes From The Source
The Source (Radio Shack in Canada) now has no listing for the E1. While
it was listed before as a "net only" purchase, it has now vanished altogether! Even trying a link RHF posted last month turns up "The page you are looking for is not found". Yet they still show the Sat 800 available (which it is in severely limited quantities). Sold out or no longer interested in trying to sell a $600-$700 radio? |

Bill K So why doesn't Radio Shack sell the best consumer radio on the market? They sell other Etons. |

Frankly, I think the E1 is a little more "high end" than most of the
stuff they sell...probably figure it is too expensive for their regular customers. They never carried the Satellit 800 to my knowlege, so it kind of makes sense they wouldn't carry this one, either. |

At least any ads I've seen since I became interested, Radio Shack seems locked into Sirius, to the exclusion of anything that could be directly linked to receiving XM broadcasts. Too bad, because they miss out on the E1, plus the Porsche Design Etons (p7131 & p7132). Any other Etons don't compete with the tie to Sirius. Invader3k made a good point, too. The E1 really doesn't fit in with the price scheme of the other electronics Radio Shack sells. It's not exactly the prime source for getting the best in home theater or shortwave equipment. Their market is closer to entry level. Bill K |
