No drift. Direct frequency entry. Cheapest I've seen it lately is around $150. Jackie |

From time to time, Amazon and J&R Music World offer them on sale for
about $129.00. Keep checking their sites. I bought two more of them (giving me a total of five) from Amazon this past December for $129.15 each with free shipping. While not "perfect" (what radio is?), it's definitely the best overall small portable SW receiver available right now. It would be ideal for a child as she will never outgrow it. Best, Joe |

Best, Joe You can add the audio outputs and reduce the internal noise on a weak station. On the other hand, you increase the frequency of losing sync lock on a weak station, so it may not pay. Curiously, the audio phase is reversed in the 7600G (no R) so you can't add one of those in the mix usefully. A better approach costwise is buy a better synch detector'd receiver, like the old 2010, for weak stations, of course. I'd add the R8B but I don't know that it's better costwise than 14 7600GR's by experience. -- Ron Hardin On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk. |
