This is a bit off the beaten path, but my old Astronaut-8 from Sadio
Shack, a surprisingly sensitive and selective set, also had a big
speaker in a big container that sounded good. Good reception off the
whip, and looked/felt/sounded like a "real" radio. If you can find one
used, in good shape, it's a keeper. I wish I'd kept mine.

Yeah, they show up there once in awhile...I saw a couple a few years
ago. The ones in nice condition go for $75 to more than $100, in some
cases exceeding their original value (I got mine for $109 way back
when). One of these days... :-)
